I agree with other reviewers that this hike is more about the journey than the destination. The view at the river was underwhelming, but we had a great time on this well maintained trail nevertheless.

Nice lake and well maintained trail through the forest down to the Sultan River. The hike is more about enjoying the forest rather than the destination. Limited views at the river. Hike the NF road for about a mile until you come to the obvious trail marker down to the river. Saw a beaver swimming back and forth in the river. I guess he has his own dam down stream from the Culmback dam. No other cars at the TH while I was there. The road to Spada lake was in great condition. Once you get past the people shooting target practice off the Sultan Basin Road the lake is really nice.
