Very well marked! Take a photo of the trail map at head of 215 and you will be able to navigate in any direction! Spectacular views from the top too!
Great hike, definitely some good ups and downs went at the end of December and it was chilly but not too bad and you definitely can work up a good sweat. Highly recommend especially on a nice sunny day for some great views all the way up to Mount Erie.
Loved it, gets technical toward the top, wear appropriate shoes or boots, had fun walking through water and mud
Very nice! Super rooted, but overall very nice! Hiked it on a wet day, slightly slippery!
It was a great hike. I hadn’t been on the trails for quite some time. I’ve also put on 50 lbs and was able to complete this loop. I started where I stopped but didn’t realize I wasn’t recording. This is a great hike if you have moderate physical capabilities.
Great trail. A good bit up hill for the first half to warm you up. The view at the Mt Erie lookout was amazing. It was super clear and we could even see Rainier in the distance. A lot of bald eagles at the top. Got there at 1040 on a Sunday and found parking just fine (but the morning was foggy and cold so that probably kept ppl home). Trail was a little muddy but nothing bothersome.
Hike: moderate hike, mostly covered in trees. Some short very steep inclines Views: views from the top of both peaks is pretty great. Saw lots of mushrooms on the way up Parking: reached around 8:30AM - lots of empty spaces Trail conditions: very well maintained trail
This trail system is very nice. Lots of options for exploring. Trail is in great shape, except for a tree down.
Went on 26 Sept. It was a weekend, but rainy, so I only encountered a few people on the trail. I diverged from the Sugarloaf+Erie loop and went to the other two "peaks" in the park, Sugar Cube and Little Round Top, as well as Whistle Lake. I set out late in the day, but these trails are pretty easy and one could hike around the whole park in a day easily. On a clear day, the views would be amazing at Erie and Sugarloaf as well, both of which are pretty easy hikes.
Great hike! Saw an owl and lots of chipmunks. Also went to Whistle lake.
