Muddy, one log across trail, otherwise great up to the cove trail. cove was fun
The cove area was beautiful!! It was fairly steep but it made this hike worth it! But The actual trail itself is super muddy and the “peak”/end of the trail isn’t that great; there’s no grand view at the end or anything. Very anticlimactic! But like I said, the cove was well worth the detour!
Slightly muddy. Trailhead was completely empty at 8am on a Sunday (though it is Super Bowl Sunday). Side trip to the cove is well worth how steep it is.
Great little hike thru the woods with some amazing views. Definitely recommend doing the little cove trail down to the water, there’s an amazing waterfall on the way down there.
Nice view at the top, but the trail itself is the star of the show on this hike! Old growth trees, moss and mushrooms galore.
it was very muddy so getting up and down the steep parts. really the best part was the cove trail - the cove was super cool and there's a waterfall on the way down - and you pass all of the old growth on the way to the cove trail junction.
It was a gorgeous day! No snow and no cougar sighting, though I was on edge the whole time after reading past trip reports. The hike down to the cove was the best part. I continued up to the top but lost its charm when I found out you could drive all the way up (and the view was just a little window through the trees). Either way, the walk up is stunning, the waterfall was beautiful, the cove was epic and I can’t wait to go back there someday!
