Steptoe Butte offers views of the colorful Palouse Hills in the southeastern wheat region of Washington. A road spirals around this tallest point in the region all the way to the top of the butte, giving you a 360° degree view of the Palouse making it a popular photo destination.

This isn’t a hike, but a drive. You can park the car at the bottom and walk up the road, but it doesn’t feel like a hike at all! The view is beautiful, which is a plus.

You can drive all the way to a parking lot at the top. Also a few parking spots at the bottom if you want to walk alongside the road to the top. Nice shadows in the hills at sunrise when I was there. It's a state park so Discover Pass.
