Aside from the few passing wiffs of human pee around the lake and Tumwater falls it is a great run of walk. Please Olympia stop making it so easy for homeless.

Practically the exact same trail as the capital lake trail, except 3 miles longer as it starts at Pioneer Park. Great trail, however I had to go off trail because a portion of it was closed due to a hazardous spill in the lake. I have done the capital lake trail several times, but I recorded it last August. It really is a great park with some beautiful scenery. I would do this again.

Connections to Tumwater Historic and Falls section Temporarily closed due to oil spill. Pleasant walk along water. Sidewalk for strollers, bikers, etc.

We love to walk this with the kids, it’s an easy walk. Relaxing, but very busy when it’s nice outside. There are restrooms on both sides of the loop, and a water fountain. The area is flat, with one area off to the side where you can go up an elevated walkway towards the capital. When we walk this, we usually do sprints up this to get our heart rate up.

Fun, relatively easy trail in the heart of down town but at times feels nice and remote. Great view if you climb the hill near the Capitol

This trail goes around Capital Lake, then follows the sidewalk alongside the street south towards Tumwater, turns east along a wide paved trail that leads under the freeway, and ends at a playground. There are bathrooms located on either side of the lake, at the turn east to go along the Tumwater end of the lake, as well as at the playground area. We like to take the walk to the playground end of the trail where we have a picnic, then turn and go back the way we came.

Gets pretty crowded in nice weather, but good for kids, dog walking, jogging. Beautiful downtown and capital scenery.
