Nice flat and short hike through old growth forest to beautiful three prong waterfall that captures rainbows in the spray. Passes over a few spring fed and snow runoff creeks along the way. Sol Duc Falls rages under a wooden bridge and the hike has a wooden platform at the end of the trail - nice place to sit and enjoy the falls!

very easy trail and totally worth it. beautiful falls to see with icicles forming off of it.

Easy going trail on a misty November 2019 day. The falls and slot canyon is breathtaking. Any age or basic physical condition can do this trail. Highly recommend.

The green in this place - wow! Listen to Sigur Ros while you’re walking this trail for the added dramatic effect.

Another reasonable 1.5M hike to a picturesque falls. The trail is well maintained from the parking lot with a gentle slope. It is wet and muddy in some spots. Once arriving you will view the falls from a bridge that crosses the chasm. The creek actually breaks into 4 small falls as it cascades down into the chasm making a very interesting look. The trail is not hard and typical of Olympic NP trails; wet and a lot of moss.

9/20/2019. Hike down to falls is gorgeous. Family friendly to that point. We then chose to head to Deer Lake. This is a constant uphill trail for 3 miles. Not too steep a grade at any point, but still uphill the entire time for 3 miles. Beautiful trail that leads to a gorgeous lake where we had lunch then descended back down. Total was about 9 miles, but well worth it!

Gorgeous thundering triple waterfall! The hike was easy especially compared to others we’ve done. Beautiful old growth. It was raining the whole hike and still worth it!

Great trail! Almost didn’t do it because it was raining but we threw on waterproof shoes, pants and a jacket and it was well worth the trouble! Gorgeous trees. And occasionally the sun would peak through the trees for a few minutes and it was beautiful. The waterfall was very picturesque and we had it all to ourselves. Worth it!

This trail is an option for most anyone. The waterfall is beautiful but the hike itself is just as impressive with the old trees that make you feel like you are in a place that hasn’t been touched in hundreds of years. It is an easy 1.5 mile trail, and there are a lot of longer trail options here as well. I would recommend going early to beat the crowds.

Enchanting view of old growth, rivers, falls, & sundry foliage. Easy trail for anyone. We stopped a little past the falls & turned back, as the sun was setting. Watch out for slipper rocks, bring a raincoat, & breath deep.

When we explored this trail, I was pregnant and also had a toddler with us who refused to use the carrier. Despite those factors, it seemed like an easy hike so I’m not sure why it’s categorized as moderate. Short and enjoyable!

It’s short and pretty crowded. Still in the olympics so really beautiful. More of something to do if your in the area for camping/hot springs.

Really great entry-level hike. Falls, clear path, family friendly. Very damp even in the heat of summer, bring a jacket.
