Getting There

Olympic National Park charges a fee to enter. Fees are per vehicle or per motorcycle. If you are entering on foot or bike the fee is per person. You can also purchase a park-specific annual pass. Please visit the park website for current rate information. SEASONAL ROAD CLOSURE: Roads leading to this trailhead are subject to seasonal closure. For more information, please visit https://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/current-road-conditions.htm The parking lot for the trailhead is at the end of Duc Hot Springs Road, part of the Hot Springs and Resort. This is a nice gentle and short hike through old-growth forest to a beautiful three-prong waterfall that comes from the Sol Duc River and captures rainbows in the spray. You will pass over a few spring-fed and snow runoff creeks along the way. Sol Duc Falls rages under a wooden bridge and the hike has a wooden platform at the end of the trail - a nice place to sit and enjoy the view!

A few downed trees but otherwise super easy. We continued about half a mile more down the Lovers Lane trail to another really cool falls. Worth the detour.

HikingGreat!MuddyRocky

Went on April 4th, 2021. Super easy hike. Would recommend proper hiking shoes. Did see people in regular tennis shoes but they’ll definitely get muddy. Kinda crowded but overall worth it. Don’t have any photos of the waterfall itself, doesn’t do it justice!

Trail was open! Such a beautiful hike, more snow remaining past the Sol Duc Fall. Generally well maintained trail with a few fallen trees to climb around.

Road is open as noted below. It snowed yesterday and there are a couple of snow/ice patches on the trail and at the falls. A couple of small trees are across the trail and require a little scrambling to navigate. Definitely worth the little bit of extra work. Lots of water in the falls.

Hiked 3/28. Open again! Like mentioned below there are some trees to maneuver on the trail. Beautiful area and very few on the trail during a rainy/snowy Sunday.

Trail is open now, as of 3/26/2021. There is snow on the trail is some spots, and a number of fallen trees across the trail that you will have to navigate around. The falls were very beautiful though!

Pretty short trail. The waterfall was breathtaking! Prepare to get wet. It was pretty busy when we went-most people were wearing masks.
