This was an awesome hike if you have a good car for the 22 mile dirt road. The hike itself was a lot of boulders and some parts of the trail are not well maintained. The views and lake were worth it though!

My 6 year old daughter and I made it to the lake in under an hour. Hung out at the lake and swam for a bit. Hike was gorgeous. The cool spot was so fun and about 30° cooler. Great spot for a break. Would recommend this hike to anyone willing to drive up the long dirt road to get there.

Illabot Creek Road to the trail head is fairly narrow in many areas and the trees encroaching on the roadway will definitely scratch up your rig. If you have a full size truck like me and don't care about the paint you will be OK. The trail itself is beautiful. I went when it was pretty cloudy and overcast so the views were not great but plan on going back.

Beautiful! It was cloudy in some spots but even with the cloud the views were breathtaking!

Very nice views. Lake is beautiful. The trail itself, while not physically difficult has many large rocks and tree trunks you need to jump over. Will be somewhat difficult with smaller children.

The drive up Illabot is beautiful, great views of the valley and the Skagit River. Their are a few creeks on the way and plenty of gorgeous scenery. The trail itself is scheduled to be closed soon, no longer maintained it has all but became another part of the Skagit's history.
