Thought state parks were supposed to be open but drove all the way up there just to find out it was closed :(

Beautiful trail when the mountain is visible. The boardwalk section can be icy. Very simple, short trail.

This is a family friendly walking trail. The pathway is easily accessible, wide and level. Good for all ages and abilities. Trail provides a distant view of Mt St Helens and exposure to wetlands. Lily pads surround parts of the walk. Beautiful when in bloom. Dogs are permitted but must be leashed at all times.

This is one of our favorite places for the family. Seaquest State Park (go through the tunnel under the highway), can give you an additional 3 miles if you do the entire trail. Bugs come out down by the water and the mountain will be in full view on a clear day. Beautiful St. Helens!

I enjoyed this trail after a nice kayak trip. It was nice to see the lake from another view. The boardwalk and trail was well kept.

It was a nice easy hike - pretty muddy and snowy at some parts yesterday (3/6) but not really slippery, fun for bird watching/listening and really peaceful.. the weather and it being a weekday probably helped with the lack of people. Right below the Mt. St. Helens visitor center which was interesting to stop by too. Visitors of the center don’t have to pay to park but discover pass holders are also accepted

Some bug spray would have allowed us to enjoy the trail a bit more, but very, very easy trail and pleasant stroll.

Good place to take the kiddos. So much to see and learn. Had 3 littles with me and no one else was there. They got to take their time and enjoyed it quite a bit!

This was a beautiful place to stop and stretch the legs on a road trip from Seattle to Portland. The trail was free to access. I visited in autumn. The sky was clear and sunny and offered a beautiful view of Mount St. Helens as well as fascinating wetland nature and fall foliage. I highly recommend. It is easy to access from I-5 and a quick detour.

We were here in November so not a lot of wildlife activity with the exception of some ducks. We are excited to try again in the spring. The boardwalk is really cool. There visitor’s center next to the trail is also a lot of fun. So much information and history!
