Went around 10:30-11am and not too many people. Trail easily marked, beautiful views and quiet minus the river you walk along.

A nice easier hike if you want to stay away from the crowds. Start early around 8am and you won’t see anyone else for the most part. A beautiful waterfall and forest.

Way too many people not wearing masks. Otherwise, it was a great trail.

We really enjoyed the shorter part of this trail if you park at Grove of Patriarchs. Great for kids. Check it out in our latest video: https://youtu.be/rvHzJgiBRLE

I took my 5 and 7 year old around 6:30 pm Sunday evening for a nice sunset hike. We saw 3 other people during our hike. I recommend this hike at dusk as long as you have a headlamp and are leaving the area of the falls (if you have kids) before it is too dark. We all enjoyed this one. My kids were amazed by the hot springs! We luckily scored a first come first served campsite at Ohanapecosh, too!

We did the loop clockwise, early a.m. and didn’t run into many people till bottom half of ending loop. Very pretty falls, and nice to walk along water for the whole stretch. NPS has this trail as being a bit shorter. Trail connects, across the road at top of Silver Falls trail. That is worth it, adds ~2 miles. But you can also continue on further. Near visitor center there are hot springs and banana slugs/fun fact signs. We went the extra stretch up to the Grove of the Patriarchs— the trail continues and it only adds about 2 miles- is a good bathroom stop and you can visit the old growth forest/suspension bridge for an overall good trip out to this side of the park.

Brought along a four year old and six year old. The four year old did hitch a ride up some inclines, but otherwise all kids made it on their own two feet. Stunning views of the falls. Not sure we took the easiest route to the top of the falls (scrambled over rocks from the falls viewpoint), but we made it. One teen did it in flip flops. I did it in slide sandals. But I would recommend sturdier footwear for that part. Didn’t do the full loop. Around the time we reached Laughingwater Creek, we got confused. Weren’t sure if we’d gone too far and missed our loop trail. It would be nice if that was better marked.

My kids (7 and 12 yrs old) and I loved this one!! Not too long, nice and steady up, great views, great banana slug info, small hot springs at the start of the hike, decent restrooms also at start of hike. Also near the falls there’s a path down to the beautiful crystal clear turquoise water where u could actually take a dip!

Well worth pulling over and the ~hour walk. Roughly half the trek to the main event is lines the gorge that the rover runs through where rapids and smaller water falls have you wondering whether you’re seeing what you came for. We went as far as the bridge where the view was beautiful and turned around. There is a climb coming back, but it’s not terribly difficult. Generally I’d agree with the easy designation. Would definitely recommend.

Fun and easy. No easy places to get in the water except toward the end of Grove of the Patriarchs. Lots of built in steps make the hills less slippery than they would be otherwise. Good for kids and adults.
