Lots and lots of stairs, almost the entire way to the top is along the falls with a short couple switchbacks away from the falls. Beautiful canyon views and a long range peek at the top. You can take the stairs straight to the top and go behind and touch the falls or you can zig zag the trails up one side to the other! Great for the whole family.

Takes approximately 1 hour to drive there from Hwy 97. Park on left side of road by ranger station. Must have a national forest pass to park or pay $5. Trail is on the right side of the road. We ascended on the Left side of the falls. The Left trail was well-maintained. A few blowdowns that were easy to cross. A walking stick was easy to find and useful on the dusty trail. Viewing/sitting areas on trail overlooking the falls. Lots of burned trees from recent fires. We went all the way up to the bridge at the top and crossed the falls. Bench to sit, shaded by trees. We descended on the Right side of the falls. It is closer to the falls with bench seating in places. Trail steps were treacherous in places. The handrails were not secure. Trail was not as well-maintained on the Right side, overgrowth in areas. Watch for falling rocks and slide areas. I noticed they have closed off the area behind the falls in recent years. Again, the hand rails are deceiving and not secure! Be careful!

This is a great trail, well marked, with awesome views of the Falls. Approximately 30 some flight of stairs with railing supports. Doable for most ages as there are areas to sit and rest. For senior citizens hiking pools are recommended.

Great little hike to kill some morning time. A few winter blowdowns across the trail yet, but nothing major. Many places for pictures and the falls are awesome! The hike and the drive to get up there are both worth the time. We'll do this one again. Get there early, as parking fills up fairly quickly on the weekends.

Great trail for me and my kids age 7 and 5. Recommend going up trail on right and back down same trail it has great views of the falls. The trail left has very little shade, and very few views of falls. Do not recommend for children any younger as parts of the trail are narrow with a steep hill side and no rails for little ones. Nice stop to rest at top of falls and have a snack. Also no bugs yet!!! Have fun get out and hike!!!

Great hike with beautiful views. Downside: on the left side of the falls there are many down trees, some seem to be from the fire. If you're short in stature, like myself, it's quite the obstacle. Not impossible, but def wanted to share. Still worth the hike. The right side was fine, with a few down trees. Much easier.

4/20/19: short, thigh-burning hike! lots of blowdown on the trail loop on both sides this time of year, but well worth climbing over/under/around it to see the falls from numerous spots along the trail! snow is pretty much all gone on the road to the trailhead parking lot, but there are still a few spots that would be iffy for a car.

Awesome hike. Falls are spectacular. Especially views of falls from different locations on the path. Don't pass the short side trips off trail to see falls

Beautiful the whole way through, with ideal length and difficulty for families with young children.

Fun hike with friends. We took the longest route. Two ways to get to the falls. Left route goes farther and elevated but the view is breath taking. then it goes down to the falls, took pictures and trail back down to the parking area. such a fun hike with family or with friends. Dogs and kids are good for this hike:-)

Very short, not too challenging but the view of the waterfall is amazing. Took about 30-40 min but I guess if you just wanted to picnic with a view it would be ok.

I always enjoy the constant gradual incline and various pullout spots for oncoming hikers, it’s great for getting the heart rate and cardio ready for the long summer hikes ahead. The bridges are rebuilt all the way around and a couple modifications added to some swift backs. I would be very cautious on windy days as the wildfires have compromised the integrity of the trees especially the left side of the loop.

Stunner lots and lots of stairs, almost the entire way to the top is along the falls with a short couple switchbacks to the right away from the falls for a few minutes beautiful canyon views and a long range peek at the top our kids are 7 and 10 and had no problem will come again for sure

Wow! What a beautiful trail!! Loved it!!

Gorgeous area, trail was paved most of the way and cool by the water not to mention well shades. The topmost bridge was out so we couldnt do the the full loop. My 6 year old had an easy time of it.

I have done this trail numerous times! The best part is getting almost underneath the falls and also being along the water the whole time, my dog espically loves that part because he always has a spot to cool down, and I dunk my shirt to keep cool as well! :) The campground there is also as amazing, #1 is our spot always!

We had quite the adventure getting to this trail via road 5900 from Chelan (not recommended). The trail is well maintained however the bridges to cross over the falls have been removed and the upper falls area are now closed due to last year's wild fires. We were disappointed we couldn't get close to the falls and see what others saw based off previous photos and reviews.

Beautifully maintained trail. Great for a short family hike. Need an annual or day pass.
