Beach 1 provides a quick hike out to seastacks, driftwood logs, and a perfect lagoon for skipping stones. A quick stroll along this beach will show great examples of the shoreline in Olympic National Park. There are towering seastacks, piles of driftwood logs, and an amazing array of wave-polished stones of all colors.

Watch out for the tide and sneaker waves, the water here is cold. Keep an eye out for eagles, they seem to frequent the shore here.

Gorgeous! Easy for all levels. Lots of driftwood, half pebble/half sandy beach. Large and I found it generally easy to socially distance.

GORGEOUS! We were lucky to visit the beach at low tide today... so many areas to walk around and explore the streams, driftwood, rocks, and the tide poles!! So much fun- just be aware that it was very populated and extra precautions were needed to stay away from others as you’re accessing the trail to the beach.

Was able to visit during low tide. Water was a bit ruff. Weather was foggy but still had a great time with the family.

Arrived at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday and not many people in parking lot. When we left at 12:30 p.m. the parking lot and road was completely full. Suggest coming early to beat the crowds. Amazing beach! Loved the rock formations here, and was able to see starfish and sea anemones at low tide.

This place is breathtaking. But closed. Can’t wait for it to open so we can spend the day here.

Beautiful however they are STILL closed. Don’t waste your time a ranger will come and tell you they are closed. Make sure they are open forsure because google maps says they are. Luckily the ranger was nice and didn’t give us a ticket or anything. Can’t wait for when it is actually open. Will be going back forsure.

Fantastic. One of the most unique beaches I’ve seen as far as rock formations. Wait for the sunset if able.

Beautiful beach. Went on a week day and only saw a couple people. Would recommend wearing galoshes so you can wade over the water and get a bit further down the beach in the cooler months like March.

Great area, can be a little busy on a weekend. Would always check updated tide charts when planning what time to go so you can spend the time there that you want.

Husband and I made a morning trip to Ruby Beach and we just picked a bad day to go. The weather was not cooperating. It was raining and windy, so salt water was literally slapping us around. The crashing waves only added to the ominous setting. I still give it 4 stars, because it is a real pretty area, easily accessible and within an area that offers many other nature trips.

This is a great beach to visit in any kind of weather. Love the driftwood piles for the architectural feel and the challenge of walking and balancing on. The polished stones of various sizes and color composition with the overcast October sky creates an oddly cozy feel. I live on a beach in southern CA and I still think this beach is breathtaking

One of the coolest spots we’ve been to in the Olympic. If you are remotely close to this spot, this is a must!!!! Phone fell out of pocket once we got hit with waves and we FOUND IT!!!!

Short trail to a beautiful beach. Even though it was a tad crowded, it was still worth visiting! One rock formation is right on the beach. Others are not too far out into the water and make for some great pictures. Also really neat to see where the river drains into the ocean.
