This is an easy hike through an old growth forest. Really peaceful with no other hikers on the trail. Beautiful scenery with lots of tree cover.

Nicely maintained trail. Soft ground. Not the prettiest forest in Washington but good for a nice easy afternoon hike.

Beautiful quick hike if you’re looking for something quiet and short. Took me about 40 minutes, including stopping for pictures. There isn’t much of a view if you just do the main loop. The old growth forest is beautiful! There was a fallen down tree across the trail just before the service road at the end of the hike, I had to crawl under because it was too high. I went counter-clockwise through the loop and it was flat for the most part.

Great trail. Some super views. Go clockwise....some hills to start but flat or slow downhill the rest of the way

Great simple hike for kids. It offered opportunities to teach about trees, fungi, slugs, and plants. There were some parts of the trail that were quite mushy and muddy. Good first hike of the season.

Good easy hike in South Whidbey State Park. You can go up and Ridge Loop Trail, and come back on Wilbert Trail. It’s about 2 miles. Some fantastic old cedars. No views. Dogs on leash.

There is a sign that says “Wilbert Trail” right across from the parking lot. This is the trail you take for the Ridge trail. It was nice, with an old growth forest feel to it. We ate some huckleberries along the path. It wasn’t muddy. It took us about 45 minutes. You need the discover pass or you can pay at parking lot for a day pass. I probably wouldn’t do it again. I feel there are better hikes with nicer views, but if you want a mellow loop without a lookout this would work. Good for kids!
