Atop Rattlesnake Ridge great views of the surrounding mountains can be seen including Mount Si and Mount Washington. This is a very popular trail in the summer months. It is a short 30 minute drive from downtown Bellevue or under an hour away from Seattle. Not only does this trail provide you with great panoramic views from atop Rattlesnake Ridge but there is also a great park located down below. Many people come to the use the lake in the warmer months. There are no motored boats or fishing allowed on the lake which makes this place ideal for kayakers and swimmers alike. You can also find several connecting trails within the Rattlesnake Ridge parking area. At the end of the Rattlesnake Ridge trail you can continue on for a full day hike along the Ridge on the East Peak trail or complete the 10 mile trek to Snoqualmie. Additionally you can find the Snoqualmie Valley Trail just as you leave the parking area. This is a great trail if you are looking for a long hike or bike ride. The trail starts south of Rattlesnake Lake and continues up to Duval, over 35 miles of converted railroad to trail.
Fun little hike with multiple outlooks!
I have done Rattlesnake three times; once as a sunrise in May 2019, sunrise in July 2019, and a day hike in November 2019. Relatively short but has a good amount of incline to keep your heart rate up. Expect 45-75 minutes of hiking to get to the top at a moderate walking pace with a few breaks. Awesome views at the top, one of my favorites!
Amazing views. Easy hike .
Amazing trail. I miss it as I used to love 30 minutes form here. It's so nice that you can bring your dogs too.... just watch them at the top. Very cool view, huge cliff, no barriers.

I’m so glad we picked today to go! Weather was pristine; sunshine, brisk, light wind. Hike is very forgiving and easy for anyone! The view is incredible! Would recommend to anyone and everyone! 10/10!

Lovely easy hike.
My 2nd time doing this hike this year, and I must say it was much less busy in mid-November than in July! But there were still quite a few hikers on this trail on a Saturday morning. The trail is very well-maintained, with a incline that doesn't seem very noticeable. On the easier side of moderate for someone who's been hiking more. The view from the top is quite beautiful, even on a cloudy day. The lake is shockingly much lower than it is during the summer months, and this leaves a field of tree stumps exposed, which is quite fascinating. There are bathroom facilities near the parking lot, and there's quite a bit of space for parking as well. Definitely a dog friendly hike as well, but just keep a super close on your pup at the top ledge. That drop-off is no joke! (especially with the rocks being wet and more slippery!) Overall a nice hike close to the Seattle area, and I'd definitely do this again or take out of town guests here to get a taste of hiking in the area.

Good morning, North Bend! Our team made a 6:09 AM Rattlesnake Ledge summit for 6 Tideworks Mountaineers (Kumar Saurabh, Amanda Bleuer, Alan Lenny, Caroline Fox, Rich Firman, & Steve Albert), plus Charlie Lenny and Caroline's awesome dog, Harlow. Our new team members that are preparing for Mt. Rainier on June 27, 2020 with @climbforcleanair @rmiexpeditions are so motivated. We’ve started Tuesday BodyPump/HITT classes with our personal trainer and Wednesday morning hikes before work. Plus, each climber has additional workouts throughout the week. This is all to ensure they make that summit!!!
if you are used to more secluded hiking, this might not be the trail for you. But if you are able to come at less busy times and you don’t mind stepping aside to let people pass by often then this is a great trail with an amazing viewpoint at the top.
If you are used to secluded hikes with out many other peopke, this might not be the best trail for you. If you dont mind stepping out of the way for people to pass often, then this trail is nce and has a spectacular view point.
Really nice trail. Very well maintained and could even be used for a good trail running spot. Straight up hill for the majority of the out, then down on the way back. Recommend getting there early (start before 9) if you want to avoid large groups/lots of children. Was very cloudy at top, but still cool to see the clearing.
Very nice trail. It’s on the easier side for seasoned hikers, and moderate to difficult for novices. Beautiful view at the top. On a Friday around noon it wasn’t crowded, but as we were going back down the crowds were coming up.
one of my favorite hikes!
Decent quick evening hike. Too well-maintained for me and no views until the top. Kinda boring.
Too busy for me.
tough getting up there but was totally worth it, the way back was amazing
Just too packed. Cool view but much much better options further into snoqualmie pass.
Crowded, nice views

Great day for a hike. not busy at all midweek. Trail in good condition. Recommend hiking up to the middle and upper ledge, not just the lower ledge. Took only 30 minutes to get from the lower ledge to the upper ledge, trail Well marked.

10/29/19. A Tuesday. I can see why this is one of the most popular hikes in WA. The pay off it’s great for such a short/easy hike. Beautiful on a clear day. Started at 6:45am. But very windy up top. Went all the way to the third ledge. But in my opinion the first ledge it’s the most beautiful. Very few people, still had a nice/quiet walk in the woods . Started seeing a lot of people in the last half mile on my way back (Around 9:30am)
Lovely hike! Although it was only 43 degrees when I started, I quickly began shedding layers. Everything was lush but after four dry days, the trails weren’t muddy at all! Also, being a weekday, it wasn’t too crowded though I exchanged a lot of “Hello’s” to couples, individuals and groups. Everyone was respectful as far as letting faster climbers pass or taking turns at narrower paths. I imagine it’s quite crowded on nice weekends though. Also be careful not to miss the switchback before the falls - a couple groups got confused!
We had a blast. Trail was pretty much dry with some runoff in a couple of areas. Our crew: 3 adults (38, 39, 41) / 3 kids (11, 9, 12). 1 adult and kid was visiting from Iowa and they did fine. It's challenging, but not difficult. Beautiful views.
The view was beautiful but this was extremely hard for me. My sister and I are 20 something year old moderately in shape females. We are from Georgia, so idk if it was the difference in elevation but we were dying and everyone else (kids and elderly) were fine. Not for those scared of heights. Make sure you use the restroom before starting.
Perfect sunny day
This is a really beautiful relatively short hike that can be easily done in under 2 hrs if you’re in shape. It’s a steady incline to the top with a rewarding view. The stump field around the lake is otherworldly and the nature center is worth a visit. The reason I gave it only three stars and not five is that it’s one of the busiest trails I have ever hiked. Not a minute went by in which I didn’t encounter another hiker and more often than not a group of five or more. Perhaps it’s less busy during the week.

Not much of a view if it’s raining and cloudy! A nice incline though, gradual with lots of plateaus. Will definitely have to go again on a better day to see the view!
