Covered in deep snow. Tried to snowshoe it but couldn’t find the trail to follow.

Very low effort for a very high reward! We had the lake all to ourselves in the morning and it was so peaceful and absolutely gorgeous.

Paved trail. Fairly level - no elevation gain. Would be perfect for kids. The wall at the lake has fallen over so best not to walk on it. Very pretty lake and mountains surrounding.

This was my first hike on a trail in this area. It was very nice. I met other hikers along the way and enjoyed the breathtaking lake and waterfall with others. They have placed benches along the path for people needing breaks. I am a beginner and this was perfect for me. I am a bit sore, but it was well worth it!

Hiked 07/15/19. Easy stroll on a well paved trail. Close to 2mi, we did it in 40 mins. View of Rainy lake in the end with the waterfall is amazing.

A super easy trail that is fully paved the entire length. Very little vertical elevation gain. The crowds can be a bit tough and the parking lot tends to fill up quickly so arrive early if possible on the weekends.

Beautiful trail. Paved the whole way down. Saw a family with a one month old pushing a stroller. Absolutely an INCREDIBLE view. We did the hike to Lake Ann as well, and if I had choose just one, Lake Rainy all the way!

We started out with hot sunny weather and ended with a down pour. The trail is still about 75% covered with snow but it’s easy to traverse and to find the trail. We had the entire lake to ourselves and enjoyed the changing views as the sun slowly hid behind clouds and then a gray blanket of clouds containing a heavy but brief rain moved in.

Easy trail, did this May 26th on the long weekend - trail was 75% snow covered but the views at the end with the partially frozen lake were amazing!

It turned much tougher due to snow all the way for which I was not prepared. Also carried my daughter on my shoulder. The view was absolutely stunning! Snow floating in the lake made it ethereal!

Beautiful snow covered trail easily accessible with snow shoes. The lake is still half frozen and just beautiful - so glad I did this hike even though it was raining - the rain on the lake was very pretty. Particularly flat trail with no obstacles - loved it.

Easy trail, paved, and good walk (not really a hike) with top notch, almost unbelievable view for the little effort expended. Great for families, those traveling with small children, those not able to do moderate to strenuous hikes, or those who have trouble with elevation gain. Great stop for hike-in/backcountry cold water swimmers experienced with sub-50 temps and limited entry/exit points. Beautiful rainbow trout along shoreline. Day of arrival water temp approximately 49 provided a good half hour of safe swimming followed by lunch on the bench. Perfect driving hike-in-to-swim break!
