The first left turn is poorly marked and we blew past it while admiring the beauty of boulder creek. With no GPS we continued straight following some pink plastic flags. Eventually a football sized rock fell from my step and rolled directly into my wife's knee 15ft below me (yep). We continued up through fallen trees and steep handholding "trail"- ending at an overgrown road below a steep scree field. After camping essentially on a cliff, we hiked down the overgrown road through more challenging conditions until we reached a 30ft drop down into a creek. An impassible washout (ropes where there but it was too sketchy to continue)! We were soaked from the morning dew and the fog rose up from the Hama Hama River. We were forced to backtrack through the worst hike of our lives and return to the car- defeated by mother nature. Keep an eye out for the left turn marked by an arrow carved into a thin tree while admiring the boulders along boulder creek. And don't ever follow pink tape- we certainly will never again!! JP
