Trail was great today! Stunning views. A little overgrown in places, I recommend having the map open just in case. Only ran across a handful of people along the trail.
This hike is short and steep. The trail is pretty rocky and not well groomed. We did see some dolphins at Porpoise Point so that was a nice surprise. Overall, for the distance we drove, it was too short to make it worthwhile.
Beautiful conditions. A bit rocky near the end but did fine with a 2 year old in my kid pack. Had to bypass part of the trail via another route due to the final section being helpfully marked by another hiker as having 2 active Yellowjacket nests. Avoided that section and didn’t have any problems with the insects. Incredible views at the rocky bluff. Spotted a porpoise pod and dozens of seals. One seal came up the the bluff as we were standing on it.
Beautiful trail lots of shade and beautiful views along the waterfront. Many places to pull off and just reflect and listen to the sound of the ocean, not many people at all on a Tuesday evening.
Warning two hornet nests on Porpoise trail. Active and angry nests. They stung us pretty badly
Did this trail today and it was good! It was 88 degrees too, so it was pretty hot and tiring, hoping for more wind lol, but definitely going back to do the other trails
*stunning views *almost no one else on trail from porpoise point to sares. *bring water for the dogs....not much else to use here.
This trail was such a pleasant surprise! The trail started out pretty well maintained but the last half was more like dirt trails. I followed one of the recordings that someone did when they traveled on that trail to make sure I stayed on the right path (there are a lot of side trails). It wasn’t super confusing but just a tip:) the end view was beyond gorgeous! I highly recommend this hike if you want to see a pure, panoramic view of the water with no obstructions. Just be very careful because the last leg of the trail, towards the cliffs, is very steep and there are no guardrails for the cliffs by the ocean! But I just loved the view, should be on everyone’s bucket list!
Great trail! Well marked and a really nice path for most of the hike. Had my toddler in the hiking pack and my 8 year old. Nice views too.
