Owyhigh Lakes Trail is a 7.5 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Greenwater, Washington that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from June until October.
From the White River entrance on Highway 410, 2.1 miles to the parking lot on the right, the trailhead is across the road
Started our trip around 8:30am with no plan, found this trail around 11am when we noticed an empty parking lot. Can't see the trailhead or trail from the road or the parking lot. No fees. Well maintained trail, ALL downhill so be cautious, for every mile down is a twice the work getting back up. We found that out the hard way. Lol there are tiny creeks and pretty water falls along the way. We hiked on a very rainy, wet day and the trails/surrounding land became a wetlands. Bridges are in good condition but super slick. Water resistant hiking boots are the way to go along with standard rain gear. This hike is definitely worth a return trip on a day with better weather, hopefully next time making it all the way to the lake. Loved it!!
Beautiful lakes with rugged mountains in the backdrop. Wild flowers were blooming when I visited in May.
