It is immediately apparent that this land belongs to a forest products company. It has been heavily thinned and the cut trees and saplings have been left on the forest floor. I imagine this is good forest management, but not very attractive. As the way contracts in stages from a logging road to a wide path to a narrow trail, it becomes more scenic and enjoyable. One is constantly reminded, though, that it is a working forest. Some cuts appear to be made within the last week. I probably will not return to this trail for quite a while. It could be a good venue for mountain biking or even running, but not my idea of a pleasant walk in the woods.
