Great trail, lots of frogs so watch your step. Parts of the trail are steep and there are a lot of roots, but overall a great hike with fantastic views.

Date: 9/20/20 Spotted Wildlife: Tons of frogs, Garter snakes started showing up around 11am Cell Service: Mostly 1-2 bars Parking Sitch: Small parking lot across the street from the trailhead that fits about 5 cars. You will need a WA Discover parking pass. Special Notes: Beautiful trail. The tree roots are huge. I was looking for the snakes but oh my so many frogs jumping across the trail The garters only came out after 11am it seemed. LH was beautiful but a bit crowded. You can add the Bell’s Viewpoint at the LH for an extra .4 miles (total) and/or the McKenzie Trail for an extra .5 miles (total). Both are very easily accessed from this trail.

Perfect little trail for families. Short but nice, ocean views, lighthouse, a place to sit and take in the view and a little walk in the woods. We have done this hike many times with our toddlers and only once has part of the path been muddy. Check renovations though if you are hoping to get close to the lighthouse.

Shares a trailhead with bell’s overlook, which is a cool walk. Look for the watertower in the woods and check out the bunkers
