Lots of wildlife to be seen while on trail, deer and seals in the water. Decided to do this hike starting at West Beach due to lack of parking at the bridge.

HikingGreat!

we followed the path written out on this site and followed signs as well as exploring around. Overall good walks with nice trails. Major downside is you can just drive to any of the destinations along the trail which always makes my walks feel redundant? not to crowded, if you walk the beach instead of walking the trail this is a kid friendly trip. trail has steep edges not great for small children.

This trail is absolutely breathtaking. I went in the rain and it was a perfect gloomy day hike.

Rachel’s watch said 10.2 miles against AllTrails 8.2. A bit off. We saw 10 squirrels, seal, 1 chipmunk, 3 slugs & 5 bags of dog shot on trail.

Not too difficult but the heat definitely made it a challenge. Not overly much to see at the peak unfortunately, but great exercise with all the switch backs and relatively steeper sections!

it's about an hour hike. it is uphill and down hill but manageable. I would say it's a medium difficulty hike. beautiful though would really recommend

Bird watching

the trail is easy and open, social distancing possible, though you may need to wait on narrow sections. one rockfall obscures part of the trail, but is easy to navigate. the beach was active, with people fishing. watched a seal working the channel, as well as several pigeon guillemots fishing. not too crowded at 9 AM, but the parking lot was crazed by 10.

Walking

North beach. We walked the beach to the end then got on the trail and took that back. Beautiful views both from the beach and above. Beach added an extra workout. We ate lunch at Cranberry Lake and then headed back to Deception Pass Bridge area.

HikingMuddy

Great hike! They had a closed sign in front of the trail, but I went anyway. There was only one spot that had a Little Rock slide. A little muddy too. But other than that it was great and beautiful. The beach is an amazing place and great for rockhounding.

Adjacent to the North Beach trail is the beach. So beautiful. No bugs. If you go in the spring or fall there are no people. You get the beach to yourself:)

*beautiful, not heavily traveled trail. *tied this hike in with west beach hike and , of course, the bridge walk....so maybe just under 6 miles. But, again, really lovely vistas, so worth the trek.

It’s a great and gorgeous trail- would definitely hike it again. It does get a little confusing while navigating (not well marked with signs) but if you watch the map and pay attention all will be just fine! Bring a camera the bridge and highest point view is beautiful!

Nice and easy. The free air show was a bonus but it ruined the tranquil sound of the water crashing on the rocks. Don't skip the view from the bridge, it was amazing. If you're patient you will spot a handful of sea lions hunting.

Hiked the Deception Pass Park trail to the bridge and back from West Beach. The trail offers beaches, elevation changes on dirt trails in the forest, and Deception Pass Bridge. Growing up on Whidbey Island, this is a memorable and favorite place of mine to visit for the adventure, memories, and scenery. The app only recorded a portion of our hike and the trail we selected at the beginning became unavailable to choose from prior to saving.

Deception Pass State Park has got to be one of my all-time favorite places visit year 'round. The bridge itself offers gorgeous views of Fidalgo Island and the vast ocean front. This would be the first time I actually stopped and hiked down to the sand dunes and other areas of the park. The beach front doesn't offer much except peace of mind and beautiful views of the ocean. You're surrounded by high mountainous rock, alpine forest and many varieties of sea birds and various other wildlife. This is a great place to come to and relax, reflect on life and just enjoy your time outdoors. During low tide there are tide pools in the rocks and you can observe sea life if you're lucky. I absolutely love it down here and encourage anyone to hike down to the ocean front if you're coming to see the bridge.
