It is a nice easy trail with great viewpoints. I live near by and wanted an easy trail after the brutal one the day before. More of a walk than a hike.

Cool area, and well supported for the walk. The boardwalk was an impressive feat of construction.

Arrive early for parking. Best time to go is high tide. See many types of birds and saw some sea lions. Great place for a long quiet walk.

Nice easy 5 mile hike. Didn’t realize that there were two different boardwalks until I looked at the map, so glad I did. The 2nd boardwalk has a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier. Would definitely recommend

We went on a Monday morning. Great trail for stroller and kids. It was very busy for the day and time however. Lots of birds to see. We enjoyed it and will be back!

looked great but didnt get to walk because it was so crowded and couldnt find a parking spot! (went on a saturday afternoon). Parking is limited since they are trying to keep the crowds down due to covid. will try again soon!

Hiked on 07/08/2020. I went down the boardwalk and it was definitely a walk, not a hike, although it was quite a long walk. Great view of the sound, especially for how close it is to the city.

I would give more stars especially for a close to city hike but it’s SO crowded. Go on a weekday during high tide for best hiking experience

Beautiful, easy walk into the estuary. I highly recommend doing the whole loop — about 5 miles. The walk is flat and mostly on boardwalks. There’s a grave led section , that makes it just a bit hard if have wheels to consider, but a beautiful hike regardless. Not too busy, although I was there on a cloudy Tuesday.

Beautiful. We did this with our 7, 5, and 2 year old and it really is a perfect kid “hike.” Lots of fun things to see. To get to the boardwalk, turn right on the gravel path when you get to the two barns.
