This is great for kids! I’ve seen a lot of life here from sea lions to foxes, duck to eagles this place is one place you need to go more then once to truly explore here. Completely flat it’s an easy trail to complete unless you have children with little legs the almost 5 mile round trip to the end of the board walk might be hard for them. However with lots of educational plaques along the trail pushing there little bodies to educate there imaginative mind was good enough to keep going and finding out what came next was fun for the whole family.

If you want to see bald eagles this place never fails. I've been here for 4 times now and I've seen at least 5 bald eagles every time. Bring binoculars because they're not always close to the boardwalk.

The twin barn loop trail is an easy walk. The trail is shaded and well maintained. There are a few benches along the way for resting and a nice picnic area with tables.. The boardwalk is a lengthier trek, but scenic views await. There’s no shade on the boardwalk, so be sure to bring sun protection. Getting to the point (end) is father than you think, but well worth it.

Nice place to take in nature that's close to the city. Very well maintained trails with lots of parking.

Had a great time with my one year old today, lots of birds and a couple of squirrels. Perfect that it’s stroller friendly!

saw female mergansers and a eagle being hectored by crow. wee pink and green frog on a leaf and heard lots of birdsong. Easy paths. Get a national park pass and walk is covered

OK. Boardwalk is nice; not a lot of wildlife to see, and few views of the river. Bird song is lovely.

*$3 daily park fee, payable at nature center/ gate* Never been here before and was hoping to do the outside trail loop, but found out it was closed. Twin barns Loop was open, which led to a gravel road that goes to the boardwalk. Great views of the delta, but recommend timing your walk with the tide (as low tide doesn’t offer much to see). Enjoyed the hike and would come back. • Park is closed at dusk. • Kid friendly. • Bathroom and shop at center... also our houses by twin barns. • No pets/ dogs allowed due to being a nature preserve with birds. • ADA accessible (with some ADA telescopes for viewing) and people had strollers and didn’t seem to have any issues. The Refuge trails are open everyday for wildlife viewing and nature photography from sunrise to sunset. The Visitor Center includes The Nature Shop, an information desk, a view of the freshwater marsh, and interpretive exhibits. It is open Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m, but closed on major holidays including Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Boring. Unless your into birds. We saw frogs and snakes and turtles other than that just birds and mud. We went when the tide was out. Terribly boring.

The entire trail and the boardwalk were stroller friendly, which made this a great place to go see some natural beauty with my infant. We forgot the jogging stroller but our daily one, with plastic wheels, worked just fine.

It had a couple good sites for some good pictures. Boardwalk was well made, which gave fresh hikers a good warm up.

Great walk....trails and boardwalk well maintain with a lot of wildlife to view. Make sure you go all the way to the end that is where it seems that the eagles mostly hang out.

It was a great walk! We went when it was still cloudy around 11am! Walked by by 1pm when the sun was out. There are 4 places to stop & view the birds! Great family trip!

Great place to take kids. Easy walk, lots of wildlife and diverse native plant species.

Great walk perfect for everyone. Visited yesterday and saw tons of birds, seals, a deer and a coyote. Got there around 4pm and we were a little too late for the high tide. Still had a great walk and views

Visited the refuge last week, it was a very flat and very peaceful atmosphere through the wetlands, forests, and tidelands. I went with several friends, and we saw many different kinds of small birds, and a few larger birds at a distance. Blue herons, eagles, and many kinds of duck were widespread, and we also saw a coyote! I can imagine how wonderful this place would be in the spring and summer – it was quite cold and overcast when I went.

4.4 miles easy walk, kid friendly, lots of birds but also lots of birdwatchers clogging up the trails. Ducks, bald eagles, hawks, songbirds, cormorants, herons, seals, deer and coyotes. Most of the walk is on raised wood walk ways.

good day for a walk on the boardwalk, no rain just cloudy that perfect temperature for this walk today .. there were a lot of bald eagles out, a variety of ducks, heron. the parking lot appeared full but we found parking and the boardwalk was not crowded at all .. Despite the government shutdown all the trails are open however the education / gift shop is not open.
