Start the loop either from the trailhead across the gate at the top of Newcastle Highlands community or from the trailhead across the Beit Tikvah Church's parking lot. The East Cross Town Trail of Newcastle City is recently built through by local volunteers after hard work was done over several years. Linked to Terrace Trail and the car road of 136th Ave on its two ends, East Cross Town Trail may shape a one-hour loop for hikers. This part of woodland is the extension of the De Leo Wall cliff of the Cougar Mountain.

5/6/2018 (Sunday) - I take two loops in the 2-hr hike. One is the upper loop of the De Leo Wall counterclockwise from View Point #2 to the peak. The other is the lower loop of Terrace Trail, East Cross Town Trail, and 144th PL SE. I am so excited to find that Cross Town is now through from end to end. The trail is in good condition. Overgrowth and obstacles are all cleared. Volunteers are still improving it. Kudos to their hard and fruitful work.
