A beautiful hike with minimal elevation gain around Naches Peak with an option to visit Dewey Lake. This is a great trail that is perfect for the family within Rainier National Park. It will take you from Tipsoo Lake with its great view of Mt. Rainier around Naches Mountain in a loop hike with many spectacular views. On the opposite side of Naches Peak from the highway you will have the option at a junction to visit two more alpine lakes if you have the energy for the descent down to them and ascent back.

We started at the left side of the loop. scenic veiws and in the valley soon after we started. at our end which is the right of the loop its alot of down hill, but not to steep so if you want a good work out from the start, start with the right side first. the whole loop is 3.2 or 3.4 the 6 miles is if you include to go down to Dewey lake. which we didnt due to alot of smoke in the air. it was just time to be done. August 18 2018 if Dewey lake is your main destination start with the right side of the trail loop youll get there faster.
hope this helps!

Probably the most scenic hike I’ve been on so far. Every corner and bend provided a breathtaking view. This trail did not disappoint!

Loved the trail and will have to come back when less smoke from wildfires in the air.

Stunning views of Rainier and bright, colorful wildflowers. AND water! Hike is not too difficult but beware of misquitos. I had long sleeves and long pants but still got around 50 bites. Douse yourself in bug spray. It's the only way.
