Lovely loop hike for a bit of exercise! Might’ve done the trail in reverse. Parked at Jackle’s lagoon. Started with easy grade through the woods with peek a boo views of water on our left. I stopped at lagoons 2 and 3 with my dog. We followed a sign to the right after lagoon 3 (lovely, quiet beach) towards Mt. Finlayson and took us on a steady, steep incline that left my dog and I huffing and puffing. Saw afterwards that we cut through to the pacific side a turn too soon rather than looped around. But gorgeous open views of Puget Sound with Lopez to the south east. Great exercise but not rocky. Much cooler in the woods so bring an extra layer or sweatshirt you can peel off once you get on the sunny side. Came upon a deer in a berry bush right next to us! Only saw 4 people the entire time. Went on a Thursday in August.

Fairly easy, beautiful hike. Maps and signs help although there are a few areas that can be difficult to know which way to go.

Was like hiking in Muir Woods without the people

My favorite trail in the San Juans. Make sure to do a loop. Look for foxes in the meadows.

We enjoyed the woods and seeing the deer! The moss around the base of the trees all around the water was beautiful. My wife and I loved the trail!

Great, easy loop hike! Park at Jakle’s Lagoon trailhead. Grab a reusable trail guide in the box next to map. Gorgeous views! Sound on the right for most of hike - part of trail through very pretty forest. A few trails off main trail lead to quiet lagoons. A couple easy and quick switchbacks and mild to moderate climbs.

Great trail! Encompasses grassy rolling plains with ocean views with plenty of photo ops of both Bald and Stellar Sea Eagles as well as incredibly dense and luscious evergreen forest. We started out on the Mt. Finlayson Trail along the cliffs and approximately 1.5 miles took the 0.4 mile connector path over to the 1.5 mile Lagoon Trail to return to the parking area. Trail is well marked. The is an incredible trail we had to our selfs. This island has trails that will make your head spin with their beauty. Family of four visiting from Philadelphia for a week of jammed hiking here and at Olympic National Park, this was certainly one of many highlights!
