Great trail with amazing views at the top. Today (June 2) there was still quite a bit of snow on the trail and we were glad to have micro spikes. Could have used an ice axe the last 100 feet but managed to scramble up fine. Well worth the effort. Trail is short but good exercise in the snow. As others mentioned you’ll need a vehicle with a lot of ground clearance to get to the trailhead.

Absolutely amazing trail and can’t wait to come back in the spring and again in the fall. Had the trail to ourselves, was the perfect distance for a short half day trip. The trail had beautiful trees, some great level areas to take a break for a snack and stunning views at the peak even with the fog and overcast day. The snow was a bit slippery at parts, but was fine without micro spikes. Definitely a new top of the list hike!

Excellent hike. The ice was minimal. I completed it with poles and very minimal spikes. Beware. There is a tree that is soon to fall onto the trail about 1/4 to the summit. It is on your left side. I was able to hear it before I saw it. The view was beyond beautiful. No clouds in the sky.

After 4 miles of crazy pot holes adventure, you will be rewarded with this wonderful trail with wonderful mountains views throughout the hike, especially after snowing. Nothing is better than snow covered trees and mountains with blue sky and not windy! Our dog really loved playing in the snow, too. We used crampons but not required since the snow is a about 6 inches deep.

Nov 3. Took about 45 mins up and 30 mins down. The road was not easiest to navigate, but the rocky part didn’t last too long. Got there around 1pm and there were about 10 cars at the trailhead. Several groups with younger kids and/or dogs. The last bit of climb to the top was steeper but there is a cable to help you pull up if needed. Gorgeous day with 360 degree views. No wind and warm air.
