Exploring the wilds of the Chiwaukum Mountains of the Central Cascades in winter Mt. Baldy lies in the Chiwaukum Mountains on the eastern side of the central Cascade Range. The route to this peak is a classic mid and late spring ski tour that is accessible from the Scottish Lakes High Camp, a year round camp that lies just south of Highway 2 and Northwest of Leavenworth. To do this tour, you need to book a night or two at the High camp. There is ample skiing in the area to spend several days touring other routes.
