Moss Lake Natural Area is located five miles southeast of Duvall, 3.5 miles northeast of Carnation, and one mile east of Lake Joy in the Cascade foothills. The site comprises 372 acres of high-quality wetland and forested upland habitats. An extensive 150-acre wetland complex encompasses a large sphagnum bog and also features beaver dams and includes a 6.5-acre cattail and spirea-fringed lake. Moss Lake was acquired in three phases from 1990-2002, with the initial 275-acres purchase repre- senting the first major acquisition under the 1989 Open Space Bond approved by King County voters.

Trail is well maintained and the parking lot is nice. The problem with this trail is that the loop is either not a loop at all or much longer than 3.7 miles. We have attempted to complete the loop 2 times now and both times took a different route and both times had to turn around and go back the way we came as we had hiked much further than 3.7 miles. Luckily, it is a very easy hike, very family friendly and dog friendly as well.

I really liked this trail. Some parts were a little muddy in certain spots. There were a couple different trails you could pick from. When you climb up the tree line starts to thin and there's a bench you can sit on that over looks the lake. Very pretty and peaceful. I definitely want to go back in the spring and summer months

Trail very muddy, due to current weather conditions. Very little signs/markers on the trail. Pet friendly, easy hike with some incline but not much. Free parking area at trail head as well as toilets. The lake can be seen, and is tranquil but this trail was not as scenic.

I love it here. Grew up about a mile away and while other reviewers are right about the visibility and the access to the "lake" (you can't really cut close access to a marsh, which is what it really is) it's a real good spot to get some quiet. When you slow down and stop.. It's pure shalom.

Good and a nice relaxing hike after hiking Wallace falls a couple days ago. Wish there would have been better views/access to the lake but perfect for getting good pictures!!!

Very flat trails, a little confusing to follow without maps. Lots of trails though & Moss Lake isn't bad but only has a few entrance points. Black bears inhabit the area, bring spray!
