Same as the other reviews, without this app and a full cell battery, we probably would not have made it to the summit. Great view from the top. Made our own path on the way down.... Didn't see any wildlife other than two squirrels and 100s of mosquitos.
Definetly needed GPS help, found the ascent okay but on the decent ended up forging our own path. Lots of mosquitoes, lots of boulder patches to scramble over. There were a few pieces of trail tape but don't plan on relying on markers. Worth the view though!
The trail follows an old logging road for about two miles. It ends abruptly and you follow what appears to be an old foot trail. It’s pretty hard to find. There are a few pieces of flagging tape along the way but it’s a lot of bushwhacking and overgrowth to manage. If it wasn’t for the AllTrails gps, I wouldn’t have found the actual trail for parts of the ascent. The view at the top is worth it. Saw two brown bears walking down the logging road ahead of me on my descent. The bugs are thick this year. Bring bear spray and bug spray.
biked/hiked to the top of Molybdenite Mountain on a clear day.
