Road leading up to the trailhead was still covered in snow with deep ruts. Only non-stock 4x4 will make it. We parked 2 miles down and hiked in. The trail is nice.

The hike was great. Just after mirror lake there is a beautiful waterfall. However as you continue down the trail it becomes very over grown. Nothing hard to pass but branches coming at you from both sides. It makes it hard to see the trail at times.

Nice easy trail, we saw plenty of kids and dogs. We did the full loop and regretted it. The last mile or so was very overgrown. You could barely see the trail. Would recommend hiking as far as the waterfall (just a passed Mirror lake) then turning around.

The path Going down from the lake goes through overgrown bushes that can be difficult to cross

The end of this hike is very overgrown which made it kind of hard to see the trail at times but it was completely empty so I guess most folks just go out and back. I really enjoyed the views-lakes were gorgeous! Not too buggy, lots of wildlife. Parking SUCKED-had to turn around on a single lane road as folks were coming down and had to park 1/2 mile from the trailhead which wasnt bad since the loop puts me down there anyway.

Everything from the parking area to the lake and waterfall was amazing, the lower section past the water fall is starting to get overgrown and hard to follow. The app will keep you on track but you will have to push through 3 or 4 spots where the trial is hard to make out.

Very beautiful hike with views of Cottonwood Lake on the way up, Mirror Lake at the top, and a waterfall at the end of the lake, as well as many beautiful wildflowers! There were some other people about, but only a few parties and no more than 10 cars at the trailhead. So pretty peaceful. Unfortunately, a group left a huge mess behind at their campsite tucked away near the end of the lake. My mom and I cleaned up burned trash (plastic and glass) in the fire pit which had logs too large for it, which were still SMOKING. We also found remains of fireworks, a juice bottle cooling in the lake, food, and... a camp chair with the seat cut out likely for bathroom use. This was unbelievable for such a pretty spot and it was a huge fire hazard. PLEASE pack-it-in, pack-it-out, even toilet paper!!! Oh also, where we stopped for lunch between the PCT and lake was gorgeous, however some backpackers did toss a couple old fuel cans into the lake... We took the PCT out down past the waterfall and beautiful meadows. Then we took a left down the Twilight Lake trail. Nothing particularly interesting about it other than a different way to go back. Some parts of the old road (quite sunny) were overgrown with alder trees and near the end there was a steep embankment to cross a creek, which presumably washed out the old road. So overall, a very beautiful location that is relatively peaceful and easy to reach. Just some very unknowledgeable visitors not following Leave No Trace...

Beautiful quick hike with some steep climbs in the beginning. A little over a mile to the lake with some muddy conditions. 3.51 miles round trip if you include a lap around the lake. There is a trail that goes around the lake that is a scramble and can be fairly tough to navigate. The trail also breaks off to become the PCT. Lots of mosquitos at the lake and still fairly cool at 50 degrees in July.

Beautiful little hike , we are slow so it took us 2.5 hours including lunch brake. We tried this hike at the end of May and it was covered in snow so had to go back. Doing the loop rather than going out to mirror lake and back the same way affords nice views on the way back as it’s more open than the forested way in, as well as some solitude that you don’t get on the main trail to mirror lake.

This is a nice easy trail to get to Mirror Lake, you also pass a smaller lake on the way. I saw some fisherman there. Several camping spots around Mirror Lake. I tried to hike up to Tinkham peak, but as others said there really is no trail. It’s a scramble and a steep one at that. It wasn’t worth it. I only saw bits of snow right at the lake the trail was pretty dry, it was late June.
