Merrill Lake Campground is a 1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Cougar, Washington that features a lake. The trail is good for all skill levels and primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and camping. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

I went on a Tuesday, I only saw 3 other people (and they were together) that’s a selling point.

You’re supposed to have a discover pass to park, but there’s no place to purchase one, you can get them online, but there’s no cell reception, so. . . I just risked it. Thankfully, I did not get a ticket.

It’s pretty. Short/sweet. Long drive off the main road considering the hike is so short and easy. Walked down the boat ramp and hung out by the water for a bit.

Looks like a nice place to camp and I’d love to go back with a kayak or for some swimming or a picnic.
