The parking lot / camp is closed - but there was ample room to park 2-3 cars. So it worked for me. Had the whole place to myself

Nice quick trail. It’s in the trees and shady. My 3yr old walked the whole thing.

Super quick hike through old growth forest on the southwestern flanks of St. Helens. Nothing to special if you live here but a good spot to take people from out of town to get them into the vibe of hiking in the PNW.

I went on a Tuesday, I only saw 3 other people (and they were together) that’s a selling point. You’re supposed to have a discover pass to park, but there’s no place to purchase one, you can get them online, but there’s no cell reception, so. . . I just risked it. Thankfully, I did not get a ticket. It’s pretty. Short/sweet. Long drive off the main road considering the hike is so short and easy. Walked down the boat ramp and hung out by the water for a bit. Looks like a nice place to camp and I’d love to go back with a kayak or for some swimming or a picnic.
