The Maynard Burn Way is a short trail (.4 mi.) that connects the Royal Creek trail to the Upper Maynard Burn trail via a decommissioned Forest Service Road. The trail is fairly steep with a 20% grade. From Royal Creek it switchbacks for .2 mi. to a hogback and then follows the crest of the hogback to the decommissioned road. Vegetation is lowland forest with salal undergrowth which often crowds the trail.
