Description
Waypoints (0)

This route starts at the trailhead on the western side of Miller Peninsula State Park along Sequim Bay Road. You'll start along the Manzanita Trail before taking a left to hike along the Bluff Trail right next to the ocean. You'll then take a right and head south to return back to the parking area. There are many other trails in this area if you wish to extend your hike. If you wish to shorten it, you could just turn back along the Bluff Trail, instead of making it a loop. Some of the trails in this area are old logging roads that are now hiker/biker only.

Easy to follow and well marked. Fireweed Road really is a road! It didn’t seem like 9 miles and app on phone said 7.8. We even did an additional side trail.

HikingGreat!

Completed 11/20. Decent loop that I did clockwise. First half along the Manzanita and then Bluff trails has many interesting twist and turns, but only one lookout of the water. The rocky beach was a nice halfway point to take an extended break. Second half is along “Fireweed Road” which used to be a logging road and is now only open to hikers and bikers so it’s very flat. Overall, this is a great hike for beginners and those with young children. I bet mountain biking would be more fun than doing it on foot (saw a couple bikers). There are several off shoots to lengthen or shorten the hike and the terrain is pretty tame. Definitely on the easier side of moderate. AllTrails’ 9 mi distance for the loop listed here is accurate. Trailhead listed is somewhat small (only 6 or 7 cars fit) so on the weekends I could imagine it filling up early, but with how many offshoot trails there were I’m sure there are other places to park that access the trails around. Very well marked at each intersection.

HikingGreat!

Very easy hike to do with friends. A lot of time the trail on the south side is wide enough to walk next to your friend. Only one area on my hike with a view of the Strait - west of Rocky Point. Not many roots to climb over. Lots of intersecting trails to make your hike longer or shorter. App is always helpful in figuring out "where does THAT trail go." We didn't want to do 9 miles so we took the the Bluff Trail Cutoff shortcut and created a 6 mile hike.

Great, peaceful hike. We didn’t notice any bugs other than waking through lots of spiderweb

Beautiful! A easy walk for my out of shape dogs. Lots for them to smell completely surprised to find an old rusty abandon car just off the trail. Wondering how long it’s been there and what the land looked like then.

I went on Saturday afternoon and met only once bicyclist. I suggest to go by the shore and come back through the forest and on the road. It is easier route.

I found this trail to be quite enjoyable. Of course there are some bugs, but really not excessive. The trail has some overgrowth in a few spots but it is well marked. Lots of shade and a nice breeze were so welcome when I went Sunday 7/26 which was a fairly hot day in town. The best part was coming across snowy white flowers known as Indian Pipe flower or Ghost flower! Also, I only came across 5 others on my hike! Definitely worthwhile trek

Nice trail, well marked and minimal elevation changes. Mosquitoes were out so bring some spray. Overall a little disappointed because I expected some amazing views based on the trail location but for the most part the ocean is hidden from view.

Muddy

Trail was well marked, easy to follow. Had it mostly to myself. Pretty muddy but easily managed. Some mosquitoes but not terribly bothersome. Love having a trail like this so close by and dog friendly.
