Pretty steep trail, but the view up top is completely worth it!

Wonderful trail, great views. Steep uphill but not technical. 8 mile dirt road to trailhead. No fires/no smoke. No bugs. In and out of sun/shade.

Completed this trail on 7/21. Clocked about 3.6 miles RT. Highly recommend this trail! As other reviewers mentioned, it’s a journey to get to and Google Maps doesn’t show you the whole way. It’s a rough dirt road most of the way up and very narrow. Take the road all the way to the end to find the trailhead. The trail itself is STEEP. Be prepared for a pretty relentless uphill walk. However, there are rewarding views basically from start to finish, with solid stretches of shade. The 360 views and watchtower at the top are totally worth it. The wildflowers in July are incredible and vary throughout the hike as you move from the lush green side of the mountain to the drier, more scrubby side.

Very nice hike with lots of wild flowers and incredible views at the top.Google maps had a few typos, When you turn onto the dirt road, it's called Lookout MT rd. Also, continue all the way to the top where the road ends. Enjoy.

This trailhead is 8 miles up a dirt road that gets pretty primitive (rocky, rutted and steep), so be prepared for that. Nice moderate difficulty hike with some really beautiful views. Hiked it with a group of 6 adults of varying fitness levels and 2 kids, 10 and 18 months. Took some breaks periodically because it is quite a bit of climbing in the 1.8ish miles (according to my Apple Watch it is longer than 3 miles round trip), but there are lots of nice shady spots along the trail to stop and it affords some great photo ops. The trail requires walking with some attention but isn’t particularly treacherous. The views at the top are spectacular and well worth the hike and the drive. Beautiful flowers all over in late June, and things were still very green

Steep but short hike with some great views. Road to the trailhead is a bit rocky and narrow, but it's nothing for high-clearance vehicles. Some stretches are only wide enough for one vehicle, however, so pay attention to pull-offs in case you have to back up to one after encountering an opposing vehicle. The trail starts off with a steep grade, and it pretty much stays that way until you reach the top. By 9 a.m. it was already smokin' hot. Wildflowers were putting on one heck of a show. The summit offers fantastic views of the Methow Valley, the Sawtooth ridge, and more. Took us about 45 minutes up and 30 minutes down.

I enjoyed this well maintained trail. It was a nice and easy hike for this 7 month preggo lady! 360 views to boot. The fire lookout was cordoned off when there but I was told by the very friendly volunteer (Mike - former Forest Services Ranger) that it is still in use. Would love to return in the winter to snowshoe Lookout Mountain!

We did this hike on Memorial Day and it was gorgeous! But the biting flies were thick on the way up, and we were wishing we hadn't forgotten the bug spray!

Although a shorter trail the views are very nice from the lookout. No official TH sign but the road turns into a well maintained trail.

A very nice moderate hike with rewarding views all around. Only one downed tree on trail, otherwise the trail was very obvious and easy to follow. Exceptional 360 degree views from the top deck of the accessible decommissioned fire tower. Great day hike and good option for when there is foul weather in the Cascades. Easily completed in 2 hours.
