Agree with all the descriptions below. The most concerning issue now is not the bear but the German Shepard that has run out and chased several hikers/runners. I talked with a woman who had it happen twice and now does not run on that part of the trail. I wont either and it's a shame. Not sure what is being done to keep the dogs from chasing people.

Great Trail - However be aware that Large Black Bears have been seen hopping out of the reservoir and then back over the fence in the early morning (5-530am) and at night (5-6pm) in the Fairwood corner of the trail. I have personally seen a Bear on 3 occasions and my wife saw one while driving on another occasion. Just be aware and you'll be fine. They were more afraid of me than anything.

BEWARE!!! At the 4 mile mark on the south side of the lake there is a home with German Shepherd that is extremely dangerous and runs out on the trail !! Another person on the trail later said the had witnessed 2 shepherds on the trail the week before harassing walkers !

Dirt trail that loops around the reservoir. Runs beside the road for quite a distance. Rolling hills throughout. Good for a longer distance run. Not too much scenery.

Good training spot for long runs as it’s easy to re-supply after each loop and/or swap gear in harsh weather. Not much by way of climbing, but good for training on rollers.

Hiked this trail last night 04/18/2018. Ran into a black bear about a half mile from the intersection of 148th and 216th. Stopped walking and let him figure out where he wanted to go. He jumped into the woods and we continued by where he had been making sure to be loud. One restroom only at the main trailhead.

Have never done the full loop but it’s within walking distance of my parents house so I try to walk parts often. Never crowded, wide, well maintained path. Surrounded by woods.

The trail is great for exercising. It is clean and well maintained. However, due to fencing it is difficult to see all the beauty of nature. 04/20/2017

Great loop for running on! Most of the trail is wide, but one section is a single file trail that can get muddy. I love the elevation changes here- one really good hill, but other than that gentle rolling hills.

Visiting from Colorado and wanted something close to Kent. Great trail with quick access, some rolling hills. It is a single lane gravel road for the most of the loop and some mild single track. This is not back woods running and 50% run along a road way.

Not much to see and there are several times you walk along streets.

Good for running and biking, or a really long walk. Pretty in some spots, chain link fence all the way around and no views of the lake. Great for training runs though! 9.5 mile loop, maybe a little under that, but not by much.

Hilly, gravel road for most of the way, narrow gravel trail for a little bit. Don't let the name fool you, you can't get anywhere near the lake, it's a watershed reservoir that provides drinking water for the area, so you won't even see the lake during this trip. Lots of elevation change, great for a run or bike ride. A go-to spot if you're looking for a sure thing 9-miler, but don't expect anything special in the scenery department.
