This trail is more on the moderate side but definitely can be family friendly. The trail is easy to follow and no blow downs or other issues to speak of currently. The lake offers nice camping areas and there is a toliet not far from the sites but not IN the sites which I prefer.

After setting up camp, I continued on another 1.5 miles towards Grizzly Peak. Athe additional hike is steep but worth the effort in the views once you round the corner. I might two very lovely girls that were section hiking the PCT.

It is a nice overnight with potential for s starting off of a multi-day adventure.
