HikingGreat!

Parking: Located right on Hwy 2, there’s minimal parking but plenty of space on a weekday. Toilet at the top of the hike. Trail: Nice and short trail and quick ascent to the lookout at the top. Recommend going in the morning as the location of the sun at midday and afternoon adds glare if you want to take pictures. Not much snow on the mountains yet so I would wait want to see those snow capped peaks in the distance!

Hiked this yesterday 10/28, and it was a beautiful clear day! Lots of parking available, in a gravel parking area along Hwy 2 The trail is through the forest, so this would be a great hike during the summer on a hot day as well. Today it was pretty muddy with a few areas when the streams & waterfalls ran over the trail. But nothing that should be a problem for anyone. It’s a steady climb all the way to the top, but completely doable for all skill levels. The trail is wide enough in all areas along the way to social distance yourselves from other hikers, so the need for a mask is completely unnecessary. GET OUT THERE & ENJOY THE FRESH AIR MASK FREE PEOPLE!! Once you crest the top, on a gorgeous day like we had, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views all the way across the valley to Mt Index, Bridal Veil Falls and Mt Baring. Bring some nuts/seeds and you’ll have the Robber Jays eating right out of your hands, LITERALLY, they will land on your hand and eat whatever you have to offer them, they are not picky lol Happy Hiking! Enjoy :)

Most people not wearing masks :/ Please just wear masks at least when you are passing people on a narrow part of the trail where you don’t have space to distance. Short and easy trail, but mostly just uphill.

HikingGreat!Muddy

It was really steep at first but after about 10-15 minutes into it, it’s not as steep anymore and the view is worth the hills. It’s not a long hike is easily done in less then 1 1/2. But you’ll end up wanting to stay at the top for a while to enjoy the reward.

Nice trail. Short. Steady elevation. Did a sunrise hike to the lookout. Lookout is cool. Trail is right off the road. Easy to park

HikingGreat!

Well maintained trail, lots to explore, small water features, fauna and little chipmunks if your lucky. Tower is fun to climb and see what you can, clear day best. Easy to find, right off HWY 2. Little muddy but not bad. Plenty of pull-off spots to allow people to pass, most everyone had masks and social distanced well.

Short and sweet! Mostly in forest until the very top, need a fully sunny day to get the most of the view though.

A quiet hike but a good workout and the dogs had fun! Didn’t climb the structure at the top because it was hazy and I’m not sure we could have seen much anyway. The parking area is a gravel area on the side of highway 2.

Short, sweet, and steep. Climbing the wooden tower at the top was pretty cool. Definitely coming back when the mountains are snow capped!

Trailhead is a gravel lot right off the side of highway 2. From there it’s pretty much a straight up climb to the fire lookout (about 1.4 miles up) - a great quick workout! Beautiful views today with not a cloud in the sky Taking our sweet time coming up and hanging out at the top of the fire lookout for a bit made it to be about an hour and half trek :)

Trail was well maintained and wet today. For the amount of people and dogs I saw 1 piece of litter; a ziplock bag which i picked up. Not a single poop bag! Did this trail in 45 min RT today (not including the time spent at top) Great cardio workout with beautiful views today as the sun was out.
