The trail was beautiful. Well maintained. We saw one other person and his dog. Lots of waterfalls. We walked down from the parking lot which was packed. After leaving the Ross Dam area we were alone for most of the hike.

Very nice trail, well maintained. Recommend long pants as trail is narrow and trailside plants are growing towards middle of trail. Several easy creek crossings. Two very nice waterfalls about 2 to 2-1/2 miles from trailhead. You get peeks of Ruby Creek, Ruby Arm, Ross Lake, and snow covered mountains as you hike. Turnaround point is at lake level below Ross Dam Trail parking. There is picnic shelter and vault toilet at turnaround point too. Nice views of Ross Lake, Ross Lake Resort, Ross Dam, and mountains.

Hiked on Saturday (6/13/20) totaled 5 hours with frequent stops to admire the scenery & one to eat - (very) lightly trafficked during our trip! Great trail - one rock and one tree down in the path at separate points but not difficult to maneuver around. Overlooks the water for some time and gets deeper into the wooded areas as well. Two bridges on the path that cross over beautiful waterfalls! Lots of small creeks along the way.

Great trail. The trail hasn’t been maintained recently and there are a lot of downed trees and overgrown portions of the trail but it is easily manageable. The trail itself is great. Not particular strenuous but a great walk through the forest. There are peaks of the river and lake below

I'm surprised this hike doesn't have more reviews as it is a great one. It is about 4 hours roundtrip crossing no less than 10 creeks (2 with bridges). I was fortunate to see black tailed deer on the trail. The end has a small picnic table and a view of the lake - not a grand vista but typical of the views at this low elevation. Final point: the official elevation gain is around 125m, not the 600+ it says on here. It's a terrific hike and definitely worth the time.
