Take I-90 to exit 52. Take a left onto Alpental Road for about 2 miles to a large parking lot. The unmarked trailhead is across the road to the left.

One of my favorites of the pass... offers quite a bit of variety and steep terrain. Best part is that it is very lightly travelled, the Alpental parking lot is typically full but that is all for Snow Lake. Only a handful goes for the Snowqualmie Mountain / Guye Peak trail.

There is a nice "lunch" not too far from that top that has the most beautiful clear views of nearby mountains and Mt Rainier. The last 1/3 is really difficult but completely worth it. A few places are a bit tricky going down and there's a few water spots to watch but overall one of my favorite hikes.
