Trail is way off. Couldn’t figure out how to cut across and down beach and turned around!

HikingFeeGreat!

I was expecting an official “trailhead” entrance. Didn’t park in the cranberry lake parking lot... we drove to the open lot west beach I think. Basically start out walking along the waterway. Slow incline went under the bridge up higher to the point. Was huffing a bit. There is north & south go north. We saw an eagle and a hawk. Hiked down to the lake and back up again to the bridge. Good hike

Will definitely hike this again. The first portion of the trail near the lake was muddy at points. Waterproof hiking boots were very handy or the rest of the hike would have been done with wet feet. This is a beautiful state park so there were quite a few folks out enjoying the day. This is not a hike for solitude but that was fine by me. Great views of the water and waves, kayakers, shore birds, and lovely seaside forest. Trail up to the summit got my lungs huffing and puffing a little but very manageable. On the way down, however, my knees regretted the decision to leave the trekking poles in the car. There were a few spots they would have helped. Missed a turn on the way back (be sure to cross the road at the top of the lake!) and added an extra mile, but even this was a pleasant distraction. All in all, a good hike at a great park. Lots of picnic spots so bring a lunch and your camera!

beautiful day! the beginning of the trail crosses a lot of roads and parking lots, so it is useful to have a map handy

First hike since the wildfire smoke. It was beautiful: the lake, the two beaches, the forest, the summit, the bridge. I saw some sea lions swimming right at the shore. Per Alltrails map, I went all the way from the Cranberry Lake campground parking lot to Goose Rock summit, then looped back. The hike goes right through Deception Pass Bridge, so you can stop at the bridge and take photos too.

Very quiet, but overgrown on the Cranberry Lake side. Beautiful views and walk along the beach. Bring the bug spray! So many mosquitoes on the summit trail.

The day provided us with great weather to enjoy this trail. With low tide you can alter the route by taking the beach for the lower portion of the hike. Get here early (no later than 7:30) as by the time we left parking was becoming a premium.

Fun trail, with tons of beautiful views the entire way. Pretty easy in terms of elevation, but still a good distance. It’s basically a few different trails linked together to make a longer hike. Very scenic. Not very busy.

A wonderful way to get a lot of miles in in a low land hike.
