Driving in the G.P. National forest into the Wind River area is a great way to spend a summer day. I like to go up there to pick Chanterelles and other mushrooms after the first rains of August roll through. Many locals know of an area known as the four corners where road NF60 and NF65 intersect. Near the four corners off of NF60 lies Goose Lake. Among the ruins of lava flows lies this beautiful lake thats worth a look. Fir snags line the lake giving it a prehistoric look. Decent campground tucked in too.
