Excellent trail just outside of Bellingham and across from Larrabee State Park.

Beautiful, well-maintained trail with easy access off Chuckanut Drive via Larrabee State Park. Go early if you prefer the trail to yourself.

Great trail with good elevation changes, well-maintained, great lake, shaded the whole way. This would also be really great for trail running.

The trail was in good condition. We came back via the road and it was a little muddy In spots.

It was a great hike, a little bit difficult for beginners but it was worth it. We were there early in the morning on a Saturday, not so much people and we really got to enjoy the walk and nature. By 10:30-11am people and tourists got there and it was crowded. The pat was clean and it's great for dogs too.

Very nice forrested hike. My GPS actually clocked a total of 6.5 miles, but I also did the side treck to the overlook.

Nice little trail easily accessed off Chuckanut Drive. There is a big parking lot but I forgot my Discover Pass in the other car so I just parked across the road and had no problems. There had been heavy rains over the weekend but trail was relatively dry with just a few puddles to walk around. Well-signed. Simply follow the wide gravel road uphill 2.25 miles to the end and you will see the cut off to Fragrance Lake. Once there you’ll find a lovely loop trail with wooden bridges, Mossy trees, rock overhangs, and several rustic benches with views where you can sit and watch the dragonflies zoom along the lake’s surface. Do the loop and hike back down the gravel road. My total mileage was 5.6 miles.

Super easy hike, mostly drivable road condition type trail. All uphill going in- all downhill heading out. Mountain bike competition candidates were out training for the big event coming up. Hikers and bikes on different trails so no worries there. Road noise for much of the trail but after turning onto fragrance lake loop it is beautiful! The lake is warm- still good for a swim

Well-maintained hike that delivers on getting the heart rate elevated. Don't miss the View hike with a sweeping view of Bellingham Bay.

Great hike for the family, have seen lots of kids go up this just fine. A little incline, but a beautiful hike! :)

This trail was an awesome trail. I loved it. It was a little more uphill than I was thinking, but it was great. It was a great workout. Beautiful scenery, and very peaceful. The lake itself was so beautiful. I definitely recommend this hike and I will definitely be doing it again.

Great, relatively easy trail. I went on a rainy day and the trail was moderately trafficked. Visibility was poor at the outlook due to weather. Uphill to the lake, downhill back. Dogs welcome, but should be leashed. The only reason I gave this trail 4 stars was because too many unleashed dogs approached my reactive leashed dog.

Not a bad family hike, in the shade the whole time. Lake is just barely visible most of the way around, but a couple of access points. A bit steep in places, but wide and you are able to gradually take your time if needed. Well maintained trail, my sort of in shape family and I did this in about 2.75 hours with the stop at the viewpoint. No water until the lake, though in the wet season there are many dry stream beds that likely have running water. You can add miles to this by parking in the park entrance lot and hiking the 2 miles on the interurban trail.

What a perfect hike. Loved the beautiful lush forest and wild ferns along the whole trail. Well worth the steep journey to the refreshing lake! My wife teen daughter 4 year old daughter and puppy had a lovely hike!

2 miles uphill. Then 2 miles back. "Just keep swimming." Great dog hike. DO go to lookout, even if tired. Trail to lookout is level. Hike can be lengthened by walking around lake, but I didn't. I am a 2-3 mile hiker, but took this challenge on. Thighs hurt 2 days later, but will take friends and family back on this hike again. Beautiful.

Trail begins behind the bathroom in the parking lot. The first 2 miles of this loop are unused road- wide, smooth, kind of boring. Fragrance Lake is a pretty little lake. I took the other trail down. Its fairly steep and rooty but pretty. The Fragrance Lake Trail takes you to the Interurban Trail. Turn off that just before Chuckanut Drive onto the narrow path going off to the left. That will take you back to the parking lot. A nice loop, well used but not away all crowded, even on a weekend morning.

If you’re not very fit your thighs will feel the burn! If you veer off to the left onto another trail, the lookout is stunning on a clear day.

A real butt burner but very well maintained trail. Pretty busy on a Saturday and my Strava says 450m elevation but a nice trail

Parking on Chuckanut can be full. Since discovery pass is required, you can also park inside Larrabee State Park. Most of the elevation is from the beginning so pace yourself at the beginning if you need. Lake loop on the top, highly recommended to walk around and enjoy.

Beautiful trail. Was pretty busy but expected on a Sunday. Few people didn’t have their dogs on leashes. Other than that very dog friendly. Well marked and maintained. Limited parking, may have to park in state park. The reason I’m giving it a 3 out the views. For the hike the end reward isn’t there. Just a normal small lake surrounded by trees. If you are looking to cut your hike short, I would choose the view point (about .9 miles in) over the actual lake. Also not too many spots around the lake to enjoy it.
