Fort Casey is a 2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Coupeville, Washington that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking and nature trips.
The Discover Pass is required for vehicular entrance to this park. An Annual Pass costs $30 and a Day Pass is $10.
Keystone is a steep cobble beach, not ideal for walking. Lots of cool birds to see in Crockett Lake and Keystone Harbor.
There are a number of old military installations and gun batteries along the Pacific Northwest Coast, these are probably the most complete and restored that I have seen. It was foggy the day I went so the views of the bay were obscured, however it was enjoyable to walk along in the mist and listen to the foghorn in the distance and imagine the history of this old place. If you were planning a day trip here it's worth knowing that the lighthouse is open on the weekends and parking requires a Discovery Pass or $10 day use permit.
Seething with history, beauty and ocean front views, Fort Casey is a destination that should not be missed. Some of the historical site has been renovated and placards are placed so people can learn about the Fort. I'd advise to use caution when the walk ways are wet. The stairs can become slippery and falls can easily happen. I wandered all over the park. I entered the bunkers and stood behind the massive guns. Impressive. The rollin green hills are majestic and the sunset and sun rises here are amazing. There are places to sit and eat lunch and visit. It's quite a place to see. If you're in Washington State as a tourist, this is probably a destination you don't want to pass up. Deception Pass and the nearby parks are also a place to stop and check out.
