Nice hour plus hike including a few brief stops to read signs or check out a cool tree along the way. We did the extension on the west side so clocked 3.4 instead of 2.7 miles. No problem for two middle age and two preteens. We hiked counter clockwise — if you go the other way there might be some steep rocky bits prone to skids going down hill. Trail had been cleaned up recently so not overgrown now.

A friend and I hiked this for our first time today with our dogs. Weather was perfect, and we had the entire trail to ourselves. Some parts were slightly overgrown, but isn’t that what being in nature is all about :) We did NOT encounter any stinging nettles. There was a long stretch of trail that looks like it was recently cut back, perhaps this was the area previous hikers mentioned being overgrown with nettles? If so, they are gone now :) I will definitely head back again soon.

Great for kids. There’s an incline in the beginning but smooth sailing after that. Great spot to enjoy a picnic lunch after hike. Recommend buying Discover Pass so park will be free. If you don’t have one it’s $10.

This trail had a lot of potential but it is overgrown with stinging nettle...ouch! Just a bit of maintenance would open this back up. The $10 fee is a bit steep for what it is.

The top stretch of evergreen is completely overgrown with stinging nettle. No way to pass unscathed. Ouch!!! With a few hours of maintenance (to be expected when they charge $10/car) it would have been stunning.

Beautiful loop trail through old-growth Douglas fir. Several pleasant streams too. Come on a free day when they don’t require a pass for parking.

Beautiful and easy hike. Take time to really enjoy this one, the lush greenery is breathtaking. This hike was easy enough for a 5 year old, and lots of places to sit and enjoy a picnic after the hike. Highly recommend this one.

I loved this trail through the old growth forest. The trail was well marked and easy to get around. The information boards along the way were very interesting.

Nice trail amongst the old growth trees in northern Washington. There are several optional trails to go on to lengthen or shorten the prescribed trail on all trails. The route is easily marked so no fear of getting lost. Both my son and I enjoyed it immensely.

Beautiful trail, amazing old growth forest, diversity of terrain and creeks running throughout. Added the interpretive trail at the end to finish with 5.3km. Highly recommend for a nice 90 minute hike. Our dog loves it too :)

Exceptionally well marked and well maintained. I was hoping for fall color but not there yet. It’s a loop in the old growth forest. No other destination. No view. Got a bit monotonous. But quiet and beautiful. The trees are amazing.

Very beautiful trail. I’m recovering from surgery and need easy trails. This one was perfect. The scenery of towering Douglas Firs and cedars was above par. Cleanest park bathroom I’ve ever seen. Lots of photo ops.

Nice, enjoyable walk for all skill levels. Definitely quite easy, with no major hills. We saw families out with young kids and dogs, so suitable for everyone! Great forest views, not much wildlife (saw a few birds and heard a woodpecker).

I took a 4 yr old and a 6 yr old with down syndrome, they enjoyed the huckleberries, native plants and the streams for jumping. Awesome first hike for these boys!

Enjoyed the quiet, secluded trail through Rockport State Park today. Well maintained, bathrooms at trailhead, lots of signs and maps to point you in the right direction. Discovery Pass needed. Several little streams/brooks to enjoy. I clocked 3.0 miles from start to finish

Great easy hike to start the season. Late May and the trail was empty! Wild flowers were spectacular.

This is a 3 mile hike that also had about 1 mile of ADA trails. There are a couple different interior routes you can take to make the trail longer than 3 miles. I took a group of 6 boys from our local Webelos Cub Scout Den. The old growth trees are beautiful. There is a stream and lots of interesting mosses, flowers and fauna.
