trail starts out on wide service road and after a few cautious and unclear turns, becomes quite steep and scrambley. view at the top is fantastic but it’s also accessible by road, so not sure the hike itself was rewarding enough for me.

Not overly clear which path to take for this trail by just reading the signs, but easy enough to open the app and look at the map. Trail has a few really muddy spots but overall in decent condition. Not much incline for the first half of the trail then a steep incline for the second half. A bit disappointed that you can drive to the top for the same view, but enjoyable hike nonetheless.

The view at the top is breathtaking! Very brutal last quarter mile of the hike with very steep trails. Well worth it though!

Easy trail

Peaceful. I’m learning how to read trail markers... pretty well marked. I’m glad I have the app to tell me when I’ve gone off my planned trail! Didn’t make it to the top... not quite that strong yet and I was alone.

Beautiful fall hike. The trail was pretty easy most of the way with some step ups at the end. I went on a hazy day, but still had a great view!

beautiful, moderate hike with some challenges and some level ground. only 2 or 3 small scrambles.

One of my favorites, better on a day without any clouds. You can see straight out across the San Juan’s.

Beautiful day for a hike. Little traffic but I went around 3pm. Not a bad hike, bugs of course. View is amazing.

Great trail about half easy and the second half moderate 900ft elevation gain. Saw a beautiful owl today got real close. The trail can be very confusing because there are so many trails coming and going from the main one. So many sidebtrails that the online map is worth its weight in gold. Even with the terrain map I still got off the trail twice. Beautiful view at the top where the lazy people park their cars. Worth the hike!

This is a great trail to get your heart pumping. Lots a variety of you want to add miles to your day. I love his area. Trail was muddy and wet today with ice in some areas. Lots roots and climb was steady not to bad but could be challenging for some. Beautiful views and hardly a soul around.

Great hike, but it can be a little confusing, there are many trails that lead off the main one. I started at the Whistle Lake p. lot at the info board. the trail start is a wide road. if you follow it straight, you end up at the lake, to get to the summit, you need to make a right at the wood out house, left at the map board and left again when the trail "t's", there's actually directional markers posted marking the way to the summit. it gets a bit steep after that, but we'll worth it. I recommend going early, I started at 9, very few people. Made it back down after noon and it was busy along the trail to the lake & no parking left.

If you do this trail as drawn, you're doing it wrong. Just continue on the track a bit further until you see the sign for Kenny Oaks trail on the left and take that. It will take you along 204 which provides beautiful views of Whistle Lake. The marked trail is pretty boring until you get to the top of Mt Erie.

A nice paved, dry trail leads to stunning view at the summit.
