Directions from Nisqually Entrance: Drive one mile east to a junction with Westside Road. Turn here and continue up the Westside Road to a closure, approximately 3 miles. The road may be open or closed depending on safety issues. If it is closed park near the closure gate and begin the hike to the trailhead. The Round Pass Trailhead is 3.6 miles from the closure gate.

8/18 - nice hike and view of Rainer. Pay attention to where you leave the “dirt road” to the more traditional hiking trail as it’s easy to miss. All Trails really helped! Rainer is stunning; I think there are prettier parts of the mountain (e.g. near Mowich Lake or Indian Bar). This is beautiful; I’d just recommend other parts more! I did this one way and then continued on to Longmire via Wonderland Trail. It requires two cars, but allows you to see more of the park!

Beautiful hike with great views. Just be aware that it's about 3.5 miles to the trail head because of the road closure. If you have a mountain bike you can easily ride to the trail head.
