Elbow Peak Trail(AKA Yellow Hill # 1222) Gains a lot of altitude as it ascends Yellow Hill, then follows a ridge to Elbow Peak. In some places trail bikes have carved the trail into ruts that can be difficult to walk through, but the hike is definitely worth it for the outstanding views.

We just happened to hike this trail on the first day of hunting season and all the other people using the trail were hunters. We saw 6 other people. The vine maples had their beautiful fall colors and past Elbow Peak we were hiking on ice crystals. We didn't notice how cold it was until we began the descent; winter is on its way.
