Always a beautiful hike! It will really get your heart pumping but is worth the climb! The trail is steep but but still very easy to navigate.

Hiked this 10/18 I don't know why I like this trek but I've hiked it 7 or 8 times! On this day, it was super windy and light rain at the top. That did not feel good. And I always do the loop counter clockwise so I end up with all the rock spots at the end... my least favorite! But, I will be back... love it so much more in the spring with all my flowers!!!

Trail is open. It was about my 6th time going up and still steep as ever. It’s one of my favorite hikes, and definitely great for Trail running down.

The parking and entrance to the TH are taped off. AllTrails.com has about 3 different trails associated the Dog Mountain TH and they all use the same parking lot: Closed. 4-stars because I know this hike is a PNW favorite. Check the website for the Washington Trail Association to get current info about this TH.

This was a great workout. Windy days require some layers as the top portion is very exposed so it gets chilly. Hiked up the Dog Mountain side and ran down Augsburger trail, didn't see a single aoul on the way down. There's a few rocky areas on Augsburger but it's a pretty fun trail to run.

Beautiful and semi-challenging trail. I took the harder of the two routes, which definitely gets grueling. Leg burner for an hour or two (I didn’t really time it). Pretty steep climb for a while. Beautiful wild flowers, once you get near the top. Opens up to huge views. Will do again for sure.

I’ve hiked this trail before but I’ve never been able to see the wildflowers! Absolutely stunning and not crowded on this cooler day

I hiked there on 4/13. It was cloudy and rainy, on the top it was foggy and windy, didn’t see any view this time. But it was nice hike

Lots of snow on the back side. Lost the trail a few times but luckily found a few footprints from previous parties. Lots of people at the top and on the front side trail. Back side we saw nobody.

Really good loop. Photo ops for days, from flowers to forest to mountains ( St Helens and Hood)
