about what I expected for a rainy day. unfortunately everything was overcast and there wasn't much of a view of Fisher Lake or from Sawyer mountain. I always enjoy getting out though and the hike was a lot of fun.

For those with low clearance cars, beware of the drive to the parking lot. We have a small car and couldn't make it past the giant pot holes, so we ended up parking at the Deception Falls parking lot and walking over along the highway. Overall, this is quite a beautiful hike through old growth forest. However, the path is very narrow at points and you will find yourself brushing against branches. There are also lots of spider webs and insects; I definitely found myself walking into a web every few steps. There are a couple of bridges that provide great views of the creek, but they are near the beginning of the hike. If you're just looking to chill in the creek, you can definitely end your hike there. The end of the hike is just a trail marker sign for additional hikes, so don't expect any views at the end. Hiking back, we found the rocks and tree roots pretty moist, so it's good to have careful footing as it's easy to slip.

Nothing much to it. A nice cushy out and back. Great if you want to zone out. Only saw 5 people on the trail.

Bugs were pretty persistent, views were great, mostly drive up then putter down to the creek and camping you want! Deer, pikas, maybe more!

Beautiful and tranquil trail.

The short road off of Highway 2 was a smooth until after you go under the bridge. Afterwards, there are some large potholes that require a higher clearance vehicle. The hike was very pretty along the roaring deception creek with wooded bridges. A few blow downs to climb over, under or around. We ended up turning around at around 4 miles due to large piles of snow covering the trail.

This was a very decent trail for just getting out and enjoying the fresh air. I went when it was overcast and even a bit rainy, so a tad bit of sunshine would've been nice. Going up to the parking, there was a very large dip in the driveway. Didn't really seem to be a problem for anyone though. Saw one car that might've stayed behind.

On a hot summer day this is a great shady hike through old growth forest. There are some great creek views. There are some areas where tripping over roots or rocks is possible, but in other areas the ground is softly padded with old needles. On a summer Sunday we only saw six other people. There were huckleberries along the way.

Beautiful views but the lookouts to the falls aren't the best. Trails are pretty narrow and rife with spiky vines called devil's claws

The trail was fantastic! Some decent climbing. There was a great deal to explore with some well situated campsites along the way. The water was rushing at a good clip.

Really lovely. We did the first 6 miles and back. About 1200 ft in elevation gain going in, with a few steep spots but many stretches of little hillocks and level ground. Mossy boulders, rapids and waterfalls along the way. A great rainy day hike.
