The Chirico Trail is a lovely spot conveniently located just off I-90 in Issaquah. After about 700 feet elevation, the noise from any roads nearly disappears and nothing, but forest remains. The south launch area allows the users to have lovely valley views while looking out over the top of the nudist colony. The north launch area of Poo-Poo Point allows the user to have lovely views of the Lake Sammamish and Issaquah. This is a popular site for hiking, paragliding and hang gliding. This is the shorter route to Poo Poo Point, beginning at the paragliding landing field rather than the high school several miles to the north.

fun hike for the whole family

This was my first hiking. It was May 27th. It says moderate, but it was hard for me. My knee got hurt on the way back. I remember how I was shocked to know that the open air place was not the actual Poo poo point and had to hike a little more. The view was beautiful. I’ll recommend this trail to beginners..

arrived at 915am on a Saturday, parking lot was full but snagged street parking. I would rate this trail as "hard" it's an incline pretty much the whole time! Foggy morning, so my pups and I will defiently take on this trail again to enjoy the views when the sun is out :)

Steep incline on the way up, but great view at the top. To get to poo poo point, you keep going on the trail once you reach the first lookout to your right.

Since it's so short the incline is pretty steep, but it's a quick straight shot up to Poo Poo Point. Great views once you get to the top.

Fantastic trail for people in and around Issaquah. The trail offers steep climb and magnificent view of Mount Rainier and Lake Sammamish. Super fun to see para gliders on a nice sunny day

They call it Poo-Poo because 1/2 the trail smells like it. LOL

Very busy on the weekends and no parking. Bring $5 for parking down the road. They need to have more markers to hikers know how far up to go. This should be rated more Medium to Hard Hike. straight up and no flat areas. View was worth it.

Great day to go for a hike. No parking had to pay. Trail was a little crowded. Great workout to the top. Met some friendly people! The view at the top is worth the side pains and need for water. There is a hug grassy area to sit, make lunch, and enjoy the surroundings!

Great 14 mile SUP ride from lake Sammamish to Lake Washington

Good work out with incline all the way up. Unfortunately, it was rainy and foggy when I went up there.

Well maintained trail, easy to follow, well trafficked on a Friday morning. Quick steep hike to the top of Poo Poo point. The paragliders were out providing lovely views over the valley. Trail is quite dry no real muddy spots remaining. Nice option for a quick morning hike close to Seattle.

Beautiful hike. Immersed in the typical beautiful green forest scenery that Washington provides. There’s two clearings, the second being the better of the two, but both are awe inspiring. The hike offers a good workout with a steady incline the whole way until you reach the top. Moderate rating is accurate but given that it can be done in 45-60 minutes (to the top) I’d recommend this to anyone. Loved it.

Moderate incline but still doable for most levels of hikers. Trail had a few muddy spots and does get busy. Great hike, worth the views!

Good hike. Trail is uphill the whole way, but incline is not too steep. It was foggy so no view at the top for us. A lot of people on the trail though.

it's relatively short but relatively moderate hike. it took around 45 min to go up and 30 mins to come down. all d way up to peak elevation is always increases except few points. I stopped several places in between to breathe. there are view points but both are very close to each other at Distance of .3 mi. I didn't carry any poles so found some difficulty while coming down. but it was doable with caution. i liked the first view as it was less crowded , second is mostly used for paragliding.

the weather was perfect to chill on top!I was there on 5/619 on Monday! 45 minutes going up and 30 mins coming down. The entire way is pretty much uphill. Going up easier than going down. better wear your hiking boots, you will need those on your way down.

two miles in and two miles back exactly (using a fitbit) beautiful peaceful view at the top. the entire way is uphill and not easy. it’s shaded by trees which helps. i stopped several times but it took an hour up and 45 minutes down. the view at the top is worth it.

the trail is 3.5 miles one way. it is a nice trail with constant tree cover. the parking is small so we had to wait more than 15 mins for some other person to go, for us to park. the trail is a rocky, constant climb. which is why, it might not be suitable for people with child carriers or less than 7 year kids. we decided to turn back after 1 mile as I had two kids (2 and 7). Maybe I was not in the best shape, but could but complete it with the kids.

Trail is well maintained and a good work out. However it was very busy- a constant conveyor belt of people. The parking lot was full when we got there but were able to park a few hundred yards up the road in a private parking lot for $5. Views at the top were nice but no such thing as solitary on this trail. Dealt with people blasting music the whole way up. I'd recommend doing this one early morning or on a week day

Went Easter Sunday. Lots of people on the trail but all were VERY friendly and pleasant. Great workout. Despite some narrow areas there are many places to take breaks. Paragliders were out.

This is a great trail. It’s a work out for sure so might be hard for people who are out of shape or beginners. The views are great and The paraglider take off’s added some really fun extra entertainment. You gain a lot of elevation quickly.

lots of mud, especially after poo poo point. recommend heavy shoes or gaiters. also, lots of Devil's Brush growing close to trail, so consider pants over shorts. loads of wild flowers blooming including salmon berry plants, forget-me-not, Oregon grape, and more
